The T55 Java is more tightly wrapped sound wise with a lot of focus. Big excellent for a wide variety of playing situations, however I prefer (and am looking for) and great STM with a lot of 'zing' to the sound. I play a YTS-23 (and a 10M) and have both the T6 and T55 and prefer the T6 just slightly more.The transposition is tough as well. The Alto Sax is in G. When it is three hours into a gig, some one requests a tune on the big flute on the stand, and you have had three or four Guinnesses, then tell me how well you can transpose a lead sheet into the key you need to be successful on Alto Sax. That is the real test of your transposition skills.A week or two ago, i took my sax in for an overhaul, mainly cuz the lower spatula key notes weren't working up to par. I got it back and now I have a new problem. I strongly believe Yanagisawa still leads the pack when it comes to sopranos. Seriously they're both great horns.The 7 was too open for me, but I don't know about you. When you play the horn it resonates in your head, therefore you'll have to turn up a bit to hear the mix above the natural resonation.
